May her Majesty's soul rest in peace

24th Sunday In Ordinary Time Year C In the Gospel we can see the message of the mercy and compassion of God for those who repent of their mistakes, especially in the parable of the Prodigal Son. Families have lost their homes, their cattle, their lands, and their livelihoods, and are totally dependent on humanitarian assistance. Thirty million people are affected as a third of the country is now submerged (that’s almost the size of Great Britain). We know our Catholic community will want to reach out to support our brothers and sisters in Pakistan. The money raised will go straight towards helping our local experts respond to this climate induced disaster by CAFOD. There will be a retiring collection this Sunday 11th September for the DEC Pakistan Floods Appeal or you can donate on cafod.org.uk/give. May the week ahead be filled with every blessing, Rev Akobundu Anyanwu CM
