Confirmation

Receiving the Holy Spirit

Confirmation as a word signifies the confirming of what we have already received in baptism; namely the coming of the Holy Spirit upon us. During the service, the presiding Bishop says:

‘Be sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit.’
