First Faltering Steps
Many years ago a toddler from a prominent family was featured on the TV news taking his first faltering steps. An elder watching exclaimed: “That poor little child has no idea of what the future holds.”
A Longing to Belong
Children love to
hear stories of their elders and what life was like in their day. These stories give a sense of belonging as the child or young person engages on that journey of self-discovery.
What we must always remember is, that God always intended us to be – a conspiracy of Divine circumstances brought us into life – a life destined to be with God forever.
A Noble Lineage
Today, we in the Sacred Heart parish are the privileged descendants of the First Christians. We belong to a house made by God, with Christ himself as the cornerstone.
We belong to Christ who is going to heaven to prepare a place for us.
What a joy to hear Christ say: “After I have gone and prepared you a place, I shall return to take you with me; so that where I am you may be too.”
Should anyone ask you this week: “So, who do you think you are?”, a simple answer is available: I belong to Christ and Christ belongs to God.
It’s all in today’s gospel, John 14:1-14. Why not enrich your life and take another moment to meditate on it today?
